Privacy Policy
Last updated 2 October 2026
Linkcardly makes digital business cards that live at linkcardly.com/<your-name>. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and what you can ask us to do. Questions go to hello@linkcardly.com.
What we collect
- When you order a card: your name, email address and phone number, plus anything you choose to put on your card, such as job title, company, photo or video, address, website, social profiles, licence numbers and a short bio. If you ask us to design the card for you, we also keep your notes for our designer.
- When you pay: your plan, region, amount and payment status. Card details are entered on Stripe's or Razorpay's own checkout page. We never see or store your card number.
- When someone visits a card: a count of views and button taps (for example "saved contact" or "tapped WhatsApp") for that card, and the visitor's approximate country. We do not use advertising cookies or build profiles of visitors.
- When someone uses a card's contact form: the name, phone number, email address and message they send. We pass these to the card owner.
- When you contact us: your name, email address, optional phone number, company and team size, and your message.
- Technical data: like every website, our servers see your IP address and browser details. We use them to run the site, stop abuse and fix errors.
Why we use it
- To make, publish and host your card, and to let you edit it through your private edit link (to provide the service you bought).
- To take payment, send receipts and order e-mails, and keep tax and accounting records (to provide the service and meet legal duties).
- To show card owners how their card is used and pass on messages left on it (to provide the service).
- To answer your questions and team quotes (at your request).
- To keep the service secure, including bot checks and rate limits (our legitimate interest in protecting the service).
We don't sell personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Your card is public
Everything you put on a live card can be seen by anyone with the link, NFC tag or QR code, and they can save it to their phone. Only add details you're happy to share. You can change or remove them at any time with your edit link.
Who we share it with
We use these service providers to run Linkcardly. They only process data on our instructions:
- Cloudflare: hosting, security, bot checks (Turnstile) and visit counts.
- Supabase: our database and photo storage.
- Stripe (US orders) and Razorpay (India orders): payments.
- Our e-mail provider: order and support e-mails.
- Google Fonts: typefaces on our pages, which your browser loads from Google.
Some of these providers store data outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on standard contractual safeguards. We also share data if the law requires us to, or to protect people or the service from fraud or harm.
How long we keep it
- Card details: while your card is active, and for up to 12 months after it ends so you can renew. Then we delete them or ask you first.
- Messages left on cards and messages to us: 24 months, then deleted automatically.
- Payment and invoice records: as long as tax law requires (usually up to 8 years).
- Server logs: a few days.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it or to stop using it. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, for example under the GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. E-mail hello@linkcardly.com from the address on your order and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
If someone left a message on a card and wants it removed, they can write to us too, and we'll handle it with the card owner.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the people who need it, and the database blocks public access to private fields. Your edit link works like a password: don't share it. If you lose it or think someone else has it, ask us for a new one.
Children
Linkcardly is for businesses and professionals. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect children's data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also e-mail card owners.
